Choosing a dentist in Antalya

Most people choose a clinic and meet their dentist on the day. This guide turns that round: choose the person first.

Short answer

Start with the treatment you need, then find the dentists in Antalya who do that work. Check each one's registration number, training and experience with your treatment, meet them by video, and get a written plan naming who treats you at each stage. Our top pick is Dt. Hüseyin Yavuz Özbek of Precious Dental for implants, with Dt. Şeyda Yılmaz and Dt. Hüseyin Bayram for veneers.

Why choose the dentist, not just the clinic

UK patients usually compare Antalya clinics on price, hotel and reviews. Those things matter. But the work in your mouth is done by one or two people, and their training, judgement and care decide how it turns out. A clinic with excellent reviews still has dentists with different strengths. When you choose the person first, you can ask the questions that matter: what they do every day, how long they have done it, and whether they will be the one in the room.

Step 1: be clear about your treatment

Different treatments need different people. If you are not sure what you need yet, send an X-ray or photos to two or three dentists and compare what they say.

If you needLook for
One or a few implantsA dentist who places implants routinely. See implant dentists.
Full-arch implants (All-on-4, All-on-6)Someone who plans full-arch cases from a 3D scan, plus whoever makes the teeth. See prosthetic dentists.
Veneers, crowns, smile makeoverA dentist who focuses on aesthetic work. See cosmetic dentists.
Bone grafts, sinus lift, difficult extractionsA dentist with surgical training, or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Gum disease, root canals, crooked teethPossibly a specialist: periodontist, endodontist or orthodontist.

Step 2: find the dentists who do that work

Our A–Z list names 73 dentists from 13 Antalya clinics, each with the role their clinic gives them. The role lists put them in order, with our top picks first. If a clinic you like is not there, look at its own team page: does it name the dentists at all?

A clinic that will not tell you who its dentists are, before you book, is asking you to trust a building. That is not enough for treatment that should last for decades.

Step 3: check the person

  • Registration. Every dentist in Turkey registers with the Turkish Dental Association (TDB). Ask for the number.
  • Qualification. Where and when did they qualify? See what Turkish titles mean.
  • Specialist title. “Uzm. Dt.” means a specialist. “Dr.” on an English website usually does not.
  • Experience with your treatment. Not “years in practice” in general, but how often they do what you need.
  • Their own work. Ask to see cases they treated themselves.

Our five profile checks show you, at a glance, how much each clinic publishes about its dentists. Read how we choose.

Step 4: shortlist three and compare

Send the same X-ray or photos to three dentists. Compare their answers on four things: what they say is wrong, what they propose, what they say could go wrong, and who would do each stage. A dentist who explains why they would not do something is often more trustworthy than one who agrees to everything.

Step 5: meet them

Ask for a short video call with the dentist, not only the coordinator. Use our 12 questions. Notice whether they answer you directly, in words you understand, and whether you feel listened to. Read meeting your dentist.

Step 6: get it in writing

Before you pay a deposit, ask for a written plan with: the name of the dentist for each stage, the teeth involved, the implant brand and materials, the number of visits, the full price and what could change it, and the guarantee. Keep it. You will compare it with the final plan on your first day.

Warning signs

  • No dentist named until you arrive.
  • A plan for many crowns or implants from one selfie, with no request for an X-ray.
  • Pressure to decide quickly or pay a deposit to “hold” a price.
  • No answer when you ask about registration or training.
  • Nobody can tell you what happens if something goes wrong after you are home.

When you arrive

Your first appointment should be with your dentist. They examine you, take a 3D scan and confirm the plan. If anything changes from what you were sent, ask why before you agree. See your visit, stage by stage.

Common questions

How do I find the best dentist in Antalya?

Decide what treatment you need, find the dentists who do that work, check their registration and training, and meet them by video. Our lists group Antalya's dentists by the work they do.

Should I choose a specialist?

For most implants, crowns and veneers, an experienced general dentist with the right training is normal. For difficult surgery, severe gum disease or complex bites, ask whether a specialist should be involved.

How many dentists should I compare?

Three is enough. Fewer and you have nothing to compare; more and the plans blur together.

Is a big clinic better than a small one?

Not by itself. A big clinic may have more dentists, but you will be treated by one or two of them. What matters is who they are.

What if the dentist on the day is different?

Ask why, and who they are. You can wait or decline until you are happy. A good clinic tells you in advance.
