UK follow-up support
The months after you come home matter as much as the week in the chair. Here is how follow-up should work between you, your Antalya dentist and a UK dentist.
After you get home, your Antalya dentist should follow you up by photos or video and answer questions quickly. Register with a UK dentist or hygienist for regular check-ups and give them your records. If something goes wrong, send photos to your Antalya dentist first; they will tell you whether it needs a visit there or can be handled locally.
Your Antalya dentist’s part
Treatment does not end at the airport. Before you leave, ask your dentist how they will follow you up: by photos on WhatsApp, a video call, or both, and at what points. For implants, the important times are the first week home, the first month and just before your second trip.
Your UK dentist’s part
A UK dentist or hygienist can do your regular check-ups and cleaning, and spot problems early. Tell them where you were treated and give them your records. Some UK practices are happy to look after work done abroad; some prefer not to repair it. Ask before you need them.
Records make follow-up possible
A UK dentist cannot help with an implant if they do not know what it is. Take home your scans, X-rays and implant details. Read guarantees and records.
If something goes wrong
- Send photos to your Antalya dentist, with a short description and when it started.
- Follow their advice: some things settle, some need a UK dentist, some need a visit to the clinic.
- If it is urgent (severe pain, swelling, fever), see a UK dentist or call NHS 111. Do not wait for a flight.
- Keep everything in writing, especially if a guarantee may apply.
At Precious Dental
You can message us on our UK WhatsApp number, +44 7575 589099, with photos at any time. Every implant patient leaves with an implant passport and copies of their scans, so a UK dentist knows exactly what is in your mouth.
Looking after your new teeth
Brush twice a day, clean between teeth and around implants, and keep your check-ups. Implants and crowns last longest in a clean mouth. Read implant aftercare.
Common questions
Will an NHS dentist see me after treatment abroad?
NHS dentists can treat patients who had treatment abroad, but may not repair private work done elsewhere. Ask your practice, and take your records.
How does my Antalya dentist follow me up?
Usually by WhatsApp photos or a video call at agreed times, and whenever you have a concern.
What if a crown chips?
Send a photo to your Antalya dentist. Small chips can sometimes be smoothed or repaired locally; larger problems may be covered by the guarantee at the clinic.
How often should I have check-ups?
Your dentist will advise, usually every six to twelve months, with hygienist cleaning for implants.
